Focal K2 Power 120W 4" 2-Way Component Speakers ES100KE

The fourth generation of K2 Power kits, with their emblematic aramid fibre cone, remain true to the precious and distinctive K2 DNA. The speaker drivers combine performance, power and style, whilst including patented innovations to deliver the very best. Designed, developed and manufactured in the Focal workshops in France, the 2-way component kit ES 100 KE takes in-car listening to another level.

The ultra-compact ES 100 KE kit is extremely sensitive for such a small package. It will adapt to all configurations and all types of vehicle interiors. The speaker drivers are equipped with the K2 cone, Focal’s iconic yellow innovation, that combines lightness, rigidity and damping. These ingredients ensure dynamic sound with incredible definition. The central ogive cones, meanwhile, help to disperse the sound better inside the passenger compartment.

For a super smooth treble, the TKME tweeter is the perfect, natural accompaniment to the midrange frequencies. Also made of aramid fibres, their inverted domes have an exclusive ‘M’-shaped profile that improves control of cone deformations and thereby limits distortion. The kits enjoy a very compact crossover, making installation and adjustments inside the vehicle easy. Also, for a custom installation, the TKME tweeters can be mounted in the factory locations, flush-fitted or on angled brackets.

Aluminium grilles are also supplied with the kit.

The aramid fibre cone inherits all of Focal’s unique know-how. Composed of an ultralight foam core, sandwiched between a thin layer of aramid fibre and a layer of fibreglass, it combines 3 key factors when it comes to acoustics: rigidity, lightness and damping, for sound that is as precise and dynamic as it can get.

The speaker drivers benefit from TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) technology, a patented innovation. This surround has a special profile, designed to better control the effect of resonance and reduce the distortion associated with deformations of the cone. The midranges are perfectly defined and very realistic.

The ‘M’-profile TKME tweeter extends the frequency response to 22 kHz with an even greater reduction of distortion, for smooth and precise diffusion in the high treble. Coupled with a ‘push-pull’ motor, based on IAL2 technology, it achieves very low resonance frequencies for perfect harmonic balance.

All the components used for the K2 Power crossovers have been specially selected and optimised to better control the effects of heat dissipation. These components are essential for managing the various channels and the soundstage reliably and efficiently.
